Library Resources
PhD candidates have full access to all facilities within the Biomedical Science District of the University of Cagliari (https://unica.it/unica/it/sba.page). This includes the University Citadel in Monserrato, the Section of Animal Biology and Ecology, and the Section of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Journal Subscriptions
PhD students have unrestricted access to the University’s comprehensive e-journal subscriptions, available at:
https://web.unica.it/unica/en/sba_ejournals.page
The University subscribes to leading publishers such as Elsevier, ACS, Bentham, Nature, and Science, with access provided via institutional IP or Shibboleth authentication.
E-Resources and Databases
PhD students can access a wide range of scientific databases and e-journals via the University’s Biomedical Library System:
-
Databases: https://www.unica.it/unica/en/sba_banchedati.page
-
E-journals: https://www.unica.it/unica/en/sba_ejournals.page
Access is granted either via institutional IP recognition or through UGOV credentials, which are assigned to all PhD candidates.
Discipline-Specific Software Tools
Depending on their curriculum, PhD students use a range of specialized software:
-
Biomedical curriculum: software for genetic and biomolecular analysis
-
Pharmaceutical Sciences curriculum: tools for chemical structure modeling and biological activity simulation
-
Animal Biology and Ecology curriculum: modeling software for ecological systems, particularly marine environments
All students are also provided with access to Microsoft Office 365:
