Still Only One Earth?

La Diplomazia ambientale tra Distensione e mondo post bipolare. Origini, sfide e prospettive per i rapporti USA-Europa.

Il progetto si propone di ripercorrere le tappe principali della diplomazia ambientale e climatica per evidenziare come l’ambiente sia stato declinato nelle agende di politica estera in particolare tra le due sponde dell’Atlantico – ovvero degli Stati Uniti d’America e della comunità europea – nel periodo compreso tra la distensione degli anni Settanta e il mondo post-bipolare. Nel farlo, si propone di ricostruire le posizioni di questi attori intorno a episodi cruciali per lo sviluppo di questa branca delle relazioni internazionali.

Environmental Diplomacy between Détente and the Post-Bipolar World. Origins, Challenges, and Prospects for U.S.-European relations.

The project aims to trace the main stages of environmental and climate diplomacy to highlight how the environment has been declined in foreign policy agendas particularly between the two sides of the Atlantic – namely the United States of America and the European community – in the period between the détente of the 1970s and the post-bipolar world. In doing so, it aims to reconstruct the positions of these actors around pivotal episodes for the development of this branch of international relations.
