Curriculum vitae

Giulia took a master’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology in 2018 at University of Cagliari after a bachelor’s degree in Biology. During her studies she did the internship on functional and structural characterisation of transmembrane proteins from plants and bacteria at the Laboratory of Plant Physiology and Photobiology, Department of Live and Environmental Sciences, Plant Biology Division and Botanical Garden, and Biomedical Division. In the last year of master’s degree, she spent three months of the Erasmus + Traineeship program at the Structural Biology Department of the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility, Grenoble (France), focusing on the structural characterization of enzymatic intermediates.

After the master’s degree she won the 6th edition of the Contamination Lab UniCa with the startup Bacfarm, of which she is actually the CEO.

She is currently a Ph.D student in Life, Environmental and Drugs Sciences (Biomedical Curriculum) under the supervision of Prof. Barbara Manconi, with a project focused on the study of the proteome/peptidome of biofluids, cell and tissue extracts for the characterization of potential disease biomarkers and bioactive peptides.
