Curriculum vitae

I have completed my Bachelor of Science with Zoology as a Principal subject, Microbiology, Botany as secondary subjects and has obtained 76.47% (First class with Distinction) in 2014 from Savitribai Phule Pune University (Formerly University of Pune), India. I have completed my Master’s degree in Zoology with 74.05% (Outstanding) grade in 2016. I was working as Assistant Professor in Department of Zoology, Modern College Ganeshkhind which is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, India from 2016-2019.
During my academic career, I was engaged in several research projects working on freshwater fishes of Indian subcontinent with emphasis on the molecular systematics, diversity, and conservation of endemic and threatened taxa of the Western Ghats (Biodiversity Hotspot). I have also volunteer participation in preparation of Book on Freshwater Fishes of Western Ghats of Maharashtra which is published by Maharashtra Forest Department, Government of India.
My work involved (1) fieldwork for species collection, ecological observations and threats status assessment of freshwater fishes; (2) laboratory work for species identification, molecular systematic, osteological studies and histology–histochemistry studies; and (3) In silico work for genetic data analysis and statistical analysis of morphometric data.
I am currently a Ph.D student in the Ph.D Program in Life, Environmental and Drug Sciences, under the supervision of Prof. Maria Cristina Follesa with the research focused on the study of seafloor litter along Sardinian fishing grounds and potential effects of its fragmentation on benthic fauna.
